Gas Discharge Tube Arresters (GDT)

GDT arresters operate on the principle of avalanche breakdown. Under normal operating conditions, the gas inside the tube is non-conductive. However, when a voltage surge or overvoltage occurs, the gas ionizes, creating a low-resistance path for the excess current.
